At Save the Storks, we believe the command to love is a call to action. Whenever we face an injustice, we have to make a decision. Unless we turn away in apathy, we must choose between a spirit of anger or a spirit of grief and brokenness. And in turning to grief and brokenness, we are moved by our love to compassion and then to action. Through innovation, technological advances, and creativity we are seeing the pro-life movement reimagined.
We believe in holistic care for women.
We believe God has called different people to different parts of the cause for life. There are a lot of awesome organizations with different skill sets and the ability to fill different needs for women at different points in their journey. Pro-life is pro-women, it is pro-baby, and it is pro-love. It is our honor and privilege to work alongside so many incredible organizations that offer love, support, and resources to women.
Here are just a few.
At Save the Storks we work with our pregnancy center affiliates to provide expectant mothers with the spiritual, physical, financial, and emotional support they need to give abortion-vulnerable women a choice that will change their lives forever. We exist to partner with pregnancy resource centers and give abortion-vulnerable women a choice that will change their lives forever. We partner with resource centers all over the nation, providing them with powerful tools and training to more effectively connect with those women in their communities.
With the support of people like you, we’ve funded roughly 40 bus projects (20 on the road and 20 in production), gained over 165,000 supporters, and saved over 1,000 babies.
Most women who choose abortion make the decision within 48 hours of learning they are pregnant. Our Assure Me pregnancy test dispensers help us to reach them in their first critical moments of decision making. They also offer a date rape detection kit that allows pregnancy centers to communicate that they care about women’s health and safety in their community. Our Stork Bus minimizes the distance between pro-life professionals and the women who most need them, and our various consulting packages help pregnancy centers understand how to better utilize their staff and resources to reach a greater number of women.
Adopt a Love Story was founded out of the goal to not only help adoptive families overcome the financial barriers to adoption, but to help each family share the power of the love stories being written in their adoption process. Adopt a Love Story helps families share those stories, not with just their friends and family, but with a community of people that they’ve not yet met. They are about celebrating the love story that starts when a family decides to commit to sacrifice and share their love, life, and journey with a vulnerable and innocent child.
But that’s not the only love story to tell. Each adoption also tells the story of a birth mother, who despite all other circumstances or challenges, chose to give her baby life. And in doing so wrote a love story of her own, a story of potential and promise for her child.
But like all great love stories, they need to be shared. Adopt a Love Story provides the platform and resources, not only to help provide the financial and physical resources a family needs to adopt, but to also share in the beautiful story of committed, purposeful love. Each story is different and there are tears and joy found in each love story.
The common thread throughout these stories though is that of deliberate, intentional love.
Love stories that are written from a desire to sacrifice one self for the life of a child that hasn’t yet been met. They believe that a redeeming, deliberate, life-saving love is an echo of the most beautiful love story of all time.
Embrace Grace is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization formed for the purpose of providing emotional, practical and spiritual support for single, young women and their families who find themselves in an unintended pregnancy.
Once a brave and courageous girl chooses life, a lot of times the church then steps away and has nothing to offer her for support at that point. She is then left with nine months of being scared, worried and feeling alone. She journeys into a season of being a single mom without direction and guidance from a spiritual family. This is where the Body of Christ can minister to women who are desperately searching for a Savior. This is where we can speak into their lives and hearts and have an impact for generations to come!
The primary goal of Embrace Grace is to empower churches across the nation to be a safe and non-judging place for the girls to run to when they find out they are pregnant, instead of the last place they are welcomed because of shame and guilt. They provide curriculum and resources for the church to implement their programs and become a Pro-love church.
If the church will join together to support these girls who choose life, young moms will be more open to not aborting their babies. Whether they keep their baby or choose adoption, Embrace Grace is a support system for them as they begin their journey of being a young mother or blessing another family with their baby. Emotionally and spiritually healthy moms parent emotionally and spiritually healthy babies. Through their program, lives are saved and generations are being changed.
#StandforLIFE is a grassroots social media movement started in Dallas in August of 2015. By giving a voice and a platform to individual stories, they are engaging the discussion about abortion in a new, relevant way. Since Roe v. Wade, a national debate has emerged surrounding the conversation of abortion, but the topic has largely been covered in darkness, shame, and secrecy.
#StandforLIFE believes it’s time for change.
A light has begun to shine through the darkness. They seek to share stories in a unique way, one that is full of grace, love, and beauty through personal testimonies of those who have chosen LIFE. They are broadening the pro-life message to a new generation through compelling videos, strategic social media marketing, and a community –driven movement for life. Every life is beautiful. Every life is valuable. Now is the time to join the movement and #StandforLIFE.
BraveLove is a pro-adoption movement changing the perception of adoption by acknowledging birth moms for their brave decision. Their mission is to change the perception of adoption through honest, informative, and hopeful communication that conveys the heroism and bravery a birth mother displays when she places her child with a loving family through adoption. They understand that adoption is not for everyone. Ideally no one wants to separate mother from child. So often the brave act of placing a baby for adoption is viewed in a negative light, when in reality it is a selfless, difficult, and loving act. They aim to invite and empower women to choose adoption when faced with an unplanned pregnancy.
They are a national non-profit 501(c)(3) public charity organization headquartered in Dallas, Texas that exists to change the perception of adoption through honest, informative and hopeful communication that conveys the bravery of birth mothers. They believe birth mothers are heroes and adoption can be a beautiful thing. BraveLove is here to change the way our culture thinks about adoption so that it becomes a more explored path for those in unplanned pregnancies. Through the creation and distribution of compelling media and messaging, they aim to show how adoption can be an amazing act of love and bravery.
Human Coalition (formerly Online for Life) is a compassionate, technology-driven nonprofit that rescues pre-born children and their families from abortion. Human Coalition is made up of data scientists, marketers, compassionate medical professionals, caregivers, and former business executives united around the mission of rescuing children and serving families.
Formed at the end of 2009, Human Coalition began innovating new ways to reach hurting women through the internet. Their in-house contact center then connects women and families to some of the top-performing life-affirming pregnancy centers in the country, or one of their own women’s care clinics. Human Coalition also connects with churches across the country, serving and encouraging them to deepen their engagement as they work together to protect pre-born babies and our communities from the devastation of abortion.
Pregnancy resource centers are on the front lines offering women medical resources, prenatal care, post-natal resources and post-abortion counseling. Centers like Viable Options exist to love women and men facing a pregnancy decision, to provide them emotional and physical support, and to walk with them through their choices. Women’s health clinics like Stanton Healthcare Services advocate life, individual responsibility, and sexual integrity. They strive to equip clients with the resources necessary to promote healthy relationships in pursuit of strengthened individuals, families, and communities.
At Save the Storks, we want to recognize those in the pro-life movement who are creatively addressing the issue of life.
It is together that we change a movement
We also want to help those in the pro-life movement who feel stuck to be creative and to reimagine how to succeed. One of the newest endeavors to do this is the Reimagine the Movement campaign, which awards grants to pregnancy resource center directors who have creative, transformational ideas for improving services to their communities and saving lives. Innovation provides new and fresh ideas to what’s already been established. It’s part of what makes Save the Storks unique in the pro-life movement.
We are passionate and creative, and possess the drive to change the culture and save lives. We want to address injustice, apathy, anger, grief and brokenness so often seen in this battle. And if you’re involved in the pro-life movement, we want to hear your ideas for innovation as well!
