Teen Pregnancy – A Blessing, Not A Curse This true story was submitted to us by Danzel. “I was 15 years old. I was going to the doctor to schedule a much needed back surgery. Because of my age, they automatically did a pregnancy test, which to my surprise, came back positive. My mom was in the room with me. I remember she started to cry and I was in a state of shock and disbelief. My doctor pushed me to abort so that I would be able to get the surgery I needed. I refused and for the most part went about my life for a few months. After the the first few weeks, I grew excited about my baby and I told everyone. The school counselor however, was not happy about it. Apparently in my area the more teen pregnancies in a school district, the more funding the school lost. This counselor pushed both me and the father of my child to abort. I refused. She chose more drastic methods and paid some of the delinquent kids in school to push a table into my stomach so that I would miscarry. When the truth came out, my mom withdrew me from school and paid for me to get the chance to test out of high school. I tested out with honors two years before my original graduation date. One night, I truly did think I would abort. I planned to call the clinic in the morning but that night, I had a dream. My daughter was in it and vividly saw her face. I kept her because of that dream. I believe God was at work that night. I fought for my pregnancy against all odds and in my moment of weakness, God showed me what I needed to see. Today, I have an amazing 3 year old daughter. She says she wants to be a knight so she can fight for those who can’t fight for themselves. If it wasn’t for that dream that night, I would have given into peer pressure and she wouldn’t be here. God is good. Getting pregnant changed my life for the better. I graduated high school early and now I have a career in private security. Teen pregnancy is a blessing, not a curse.” Tags dream, motherhood, Pro-Life, stories, teen, teen pregnancy ← PREV POST → NEXT POST
