7 Things We Noticed About Planned Parenthood’s Annual Report

Planned Parenthood finally, finally released their 2015-2016 annual report – only four months late. There are a number of interesting facts that taxpayers – their main stakeholders – can glean from it.

Here are our top seven observations:

1 – Abortions increased from 323,999 up to 328,348. They now commit 897 abortions PER DAY.

2 – Taxpayer money increased to Planned Parenthood from $553,700,000 up to $554,600,000.

3 – Prenatal care has significantly decreased. No surprise given Live Action’s investigation into the supposed prenatal care that Planned Parenthood provides (spoiler: hardly anything). In 2014-2015, they served 17,419 individuals for prenatal care. In 2015-2016, that number is nearly cut in half at 9,419.

4 – The number of clients decreased from 2.5 million to 2.4 million and cancer screenings, pap tests, and breast exams all decreased. By comparison, in 2005-2006, Planned Parenthood did 2,007,371 cancer screenings and had 3.1 million clients. This year’s report of 2015-2016 shows Planned Parenthood did only 665,234 cancer screenings and had 2.4 million clients. Oh, and they only got $336,700,000 in taxpayer funds in 2006 versus over $554,600,000 in 2015.

5 – Planned Parenthood has also added to the report “Well-Woman Exams” and “Miscarriage Care,” which are completely new categories and are not explained.

6 – Planned Parenthood claims 300 campus groups, which is up from 275 in previous reports. In the last three months of 2015, Students for Life started 115 new groups alone. All together, we have over 1,140. The Pro-Life Generation is winning.

7 – Planned Parenthood committed more abortions than they did breast exams last year. Abortion is their business.

Students for Life of America president Kristan Hawkins said:

“Now we know why the nation’s largest abortion provider took so long to release their annual report: their messaging for months has been revealed to be smoke and mirrors. They get more money than ever from the government while serving less and less people. The number of abortions have increased while the number of cancer screenings, breast exams, and pap tests continue to plummet.

They have proven that they hold the number one spot in our nation as the Wal-Mart of the abortion industry and their fight to prove they deserve government funding is a complete farce. There are literally thousands of other federally-funded centers that offer true healthcare, are more accessible and affordable than Planned Parenthood, and aren’t riddled with scandal. Those are the healthcare centers that our federal dollars should be redirected towards, not Planned Parenthood.”

DEAR READER

We hope this article enlightened and inspired you to stand up for life.

Despite the overturning of Roe v. Wade, abortions are still prevalent in our nation. As a response to the overturning, the media: from the news to entertainment sources to even political figures and celebrities, have pushed abortion as an ongoing agenda, shaping the way this generation thinks and acts. Misinformation is being spread every day, and people are sadly believing the lies.

Our articles and stories aim to tell one thing: the truth.

We know that it is both a blessing and a challenge to understand the reality of abortion, because knowledge incites belief, and belief incites action. But we’re in this together. We believe that we can make abortion unthinkable.

With your support, we look forward to a future where young women are empowered to fight for their own rights: a right to bring life into the world, to be fearless leaders, to be examples of hope, strength, and undeterred resilience. We look forward to a future where life can happen.
