It shouldn’t surprise us that celebrities are fundraising for Planned Parenthood–it’s basically the new favorite hobby of the rich and famous. But it is pretty ironic that a group of celebrities have decided to spend this Christmas season, a.k.a. the celebration of the birth of baby Jesus, raising money for the nation’s largest abortion chain. Just sit on that for a second.
On Saturday, it was announced that musician Tony Thaxton would be hosting the second annual Feliz Navipod’s Feliz Navidad Variety Show. This year’s benefitting charity? Planned Parenthood, of course.
The show’s description reads, “Things kind of suck right now. So, let’s try and make them not suck. Let’s have a fun night and get into the holiday spirit for a great cause at Feliz Navipod’s Feliz Navidad Variety Show. A night of comedy and music benefiting Planned Parenthood. PLUS, free Christmas treats!”
Unfortunately, the show’s lineup is pretty enticing and the tickets only cost $15. With celebrities like Mandy Moore and Chris Sullivan (from This Is Us), Rory Scovel, Colin Hanks, and more, there likely won’t be an empty seat in the audience.
So say you wanted to go to this show for a star-studded experience, but you really don’t want to support Planned Parenthood. You’re a little stuck.
With so many big names openly supporting Planned Parenthood these days, it feels as though you can’t do anything without somehow accidentally supporting abortion—like drinking Starbucks, using Verizon, or banking at Bank of America.
Even take last year’s Women’s March in Washington, D.C. for example. The majority of women agree with many things the march stood for—equality in the workplace, fighting against sexual harassment, support of single moms, etc.—however, the march was explicitly in support of abortion and Planned Parenthood. Essentially, if you marched, you were supporting those things too, if only by association.
These days, you have to be extra careful who and what you are supporting. You might find yourself accidentally giving $15 to your least favorite organization—an organization that performs over 300,000 abortions a year and profits from the bodies of aborted babies.
So instead of accidentally giving your money to Planned Parenthood this Christmas, choose to support women and their children with real resources and information. Click here to learn more about how you can stand for and empower women.
