Save the Storks participates in nationwide pro-life efforts

By Natasha Smith

This year has been an outstanding year for the pro-life movement. Save the Storks, and other pro-life organizations created opportunities to engage the culture on the topic of life across the United States. We are so thankful for each person who made a stand for life this year. Here are a few highlights from 2019.

Washington, D.C. for Life

On Jan. 18, 2019, Save the Storks and pro-life supporters came together in Washington, D.C at the nation’s largest pro-life rally, the March for Life.  Over 300,000 individuals filled the National Mall to march and hear  Vice President Mike Pence and his wife Karen speak. The event was largely ignored by mainstream media, yet those who came in support of women and their unborn children far outnumbered the pro-abortion advocates at the women’s march the following day.

We look forward to the March for Life 2020! Join us in D.C., or at a march near you. Find out more at https://marchforlife.org/.

The evening before the March for Life, Save the Storks hosted its second annual Stork Ball where Vice President Pence shared some encouraging words.

New York for Life

With the national attention fixed on New York’s late-term abortion laws, Save the Storks launched and investigation into New Mexico’s unrestricted late-term abortion industry that has been growing since 1973.

In response to the late-term abortion laws, Pro-life celebrity, Joy Villa walked the streets of Manhattan. She asks New Yorkers if they heard about the new laws allowing baby puppies to be killed up to nine months. New Yorkers don’t know what to say when Joy turns the conversation toward baby humans.

On May 4, 2019, Focus on the Family hosted “Alive from New York” in where a live ultrasound of ith pro-life advocate Abby Johnson’s baby could be seen by all. Storks partnered with the producers who shared Johnson’s story in the new movie Unplanned to run an ad on the Nasdaq market site jumbotron during the event to reach thousands of people in Times Square.

Unplanned Movie Release

The true story of Abby Johnson, the youngest Director of a Texas Planned Parenthood, was released this year. The movie Unplanned became a  #1 Best Seller on Amazon with 235,000 copies presold without major marketing efforts. In fact, according to the Daily Signal, Unplanned experienced significant opposition and suppression by media. Nevertheless, Unplanned continues to inspire conversations about life and true healthcare, both in America and internationally. Abby Johnson’s ministry continues to impact post-abortive women, abortion-vulnerable women. She also does much to help Planned Parenthood employees find other work if they wish to change careers.  More than 200,000 Unplanned DVDs also included an insert about Save the Storks where they can learn how to get involved in the pro-life movement.

We are changing women’s hearts and minds before they ever go to an abortion clinic through our social media efforts. In response to Miley Cyrus’ post for Planned Parenthood, Save the Storks shared their “celebrate LIFE” photo. This became Storks’ most popular post of the year and was featured in a pro-life newspaper in Italy. Follow us on Instagram to see and share our most current posts.

DEAR READER

We hope this article enlightened and inspired you to stand up for life.

Despite the overturning of Roe v. Wade, abortions are still prevalent in our nation. As a response to the overturning, the media: from the news to entertainment sources to even political figures and celebrities, have pushed abortion as an ongoing agenda, shaping the way this generation thinks and acts. Misinformation is being spread every day, and people are sadly believing the lies.

Our articles and stories aim to tell one thing: the truth.

We know that it is both a blessing and a challenge to understand the reality of abortion, because knowledge incites belief, and belief incites action. But we’re in this together. We believe that we can make abortion unthinkable.

With your support, we look forward to a future where young women are empowered to fight for their own rights: a right to bring life into the world, to be fearless leaders, to be examples of hope, strength, and undeterred resilience. We look forward to a future where life can happen.

If this article strengthened your belief to reach women everywhere with the truth and to let life happen, then please consider helping us extend our reach by making a gift right now. Your gift of just $10 or $20 helps our mission to create a story of hope and empowerment for every woman facing an unplanned pregnancy.

We aim to create a culture that views “pro-life” as equivalent to having empathy and compassion, providing holistic care (before and beyond pregnancy) and education, and most importantly, choosing to speak and act in love. We are pro-life, pro-love, pro-woman, pro-solution.

Don’t just be part of the movement, be part of the solution, and give today.
