The March for Life is Over…Now What?

Top 5 Ways to Get Involved in the Pro-life Movement

By Brittany Smith

An estimated 100,000 people participated in the 47th annual March for Life last week. Such numbers prove that pro-life support is alive and well across the nation.

But once all the signs are put away, and everyone leaves D.C., what happens next? How do we get involved in pro-life efforts 364 days a year, rather than just one?

Save the Storks has a few ways you can be a pro-life supporter all year long.

Get involved at your local pregnancy resource center

There are close to 2,000 pregnancy resource centers (PRCs) around the nation. Chances are there’s at least one near where you live. PRCs always need volunteers to host a diaper drive, sort baby clothes or lead a parenting class. Call today and see what they need.

Throw a baby shower for a mom facing an unplanned pregnancy

One of the greatest barriers women face in making a decision for life is feeling like they have no support or resources to care for their baby. You can make a difference in a mom’s life by throwing her a baby shower. Embrace Grace is an incredible resource that helps churches and individuals plan showers and support moms in their communities.

Start a pro-life study and defend your stance on life

Learning more about the pro-life stance and ways to defend it are invaluable ways to reach more people. Many pro-life people don’t feel equipped to talk about their stance on life. Life Training Institute and Equal Rights Institute are here to change that. From videos, books, and podcasts they’ve got you covered on all things pro-life.

Save the Storks also created a pro-life Bible study that can be found for free on the YouVersion app.

Serve foster families or those in foster care in your community

Do you want to get involved with the foster care system, but don’t know where to start? Safe Families and Care Portal are two online resources that offer a wealth of volunteer and donation opportunities. You can also connect your church with these organizations and enroll them in these programs so the entire congregation can get involved.

Learn about adoption options

family adoption

Many women who face an unplanned pregnancy might be open to adoption, but don’t know what organizations are available. Bethany Christian Services is one of the largest nationwide adoption agencies and Olive Crest serves families on the west coast. They can also help you learn more about open and closed adoptions and how to best support families walking through adoption.

DEAR READER

We hope this article enlightened and inspired you to stand up for life.

Despite the overturning of Roe v. Wade, abortions are still prevalent in our nation. As a response to the overturning, the media: from the news to entertainment sources to even political figures and celebrities, have pushed abortion as an ongoing agenda, shaping the way this generation thinks and acts. Misinformation is being spread every day, and people are sadly believing the lies.

Our articles and stories aim to tell one thing: the truth.

We know that it is both a blessing and a challenge to understand the reality of abortion, because knowledge incites belief, and belief incites action. But we’re in this together. We believe that we can make abortion unthinkable.

With your support, we look forward to a future where young women are empowered to fight for their own rights: a right to bring life into the world, to be fearless leaders, to be examples of hope, strength, and undeterred resilience. We look forward to a future where life can happen.

If this article strengthened your belief to reach women everywhere with the truth and to let life happen, then please consider helping us extend our reach by making a gift right now. Your gift of just $10 or $20 helps our mission to create a story of hope and empowerment for every woman facing an unplanned pregnancy.

We aim to create a culture that views “pro-life” as equivalent to having empathy and compassion, providing holistic care (before and beyond pregnancy) and education, and most importantly, choosing to speak and act in love. We are pro-life, pro-love, pro-woman, pro-solution.

Don’t just be part of the movement, be part of the solution, and give today.
