How Our Mobile Medical Clinics are Filling School Buses this Fall

When we think about the devastating impact of abortion on our society, we often picture the babies that were never born. We imagine the moms and dads who never held their swaddled newborns. But what’s easy to forget is that these unborn babies would have grown up. In five or six years, they’d be stepping onto a school bus for their first day of kindergarten. In 18 years, they’d be walking across the stage at their high school graduation. With abortion, millions from each generation have been robbed of the chance to live and the beautiful milestones that follow.

Our mobile medical clinics are working to fight this. We aim to give each child the chance to live, and to one day fill those school buses again with laughter, joy, and LIFE.

The Numbers Behind Empty School Buses

As school starts, we see buses driving through neighborhoods. Many parents are sending their children to school for the first time. But this fall, how many kids won’t be stepping onto a bus because they were aborted six years ago?

In 2020, Guttmacher reported 930,160 abortions in the United States. That means this fall, 930,160 children are missing from kindergarten classrooms.

Assuming the average school bus holds 60 children…

That’s 15,503 buses that will never be filled.

With 20 students in the average kindergarten class…

That means 46,508 classrooms are empty this fall.

And this is just one school year. Since abortion was legalized in 1973, these numbers add up to create a generational impact that’s hard to imagine.

Abortion is Impacting Generations

Is abortion causing a generational genocide? If you were born after abortion was legalized, could it be a miracle that you’re alive today? Let’s take a look at abortions by generation.

Gen X: Between 1973 and 1980

Millennials: Between 1981 and 1996

  • 24.5 million preborn lives lost to abortion

Gen Z: Between 1997 and 2012

  • 19.4 million preborn lives lost to abortion
  • That’s approximately 32.5% of Gen Z in the U.S. who were never born (based on ~60 million live births).

Gen Alpha: Between 2013 and 2024

The number of children lost before birth is unimaginable. If it had happened after birth, we’d call it genocide.

Gen Beta: 2025 – ???

Can we make Gen Beta the least aborted generation in decades?

How Our Mobile Medical Clinics Bring Hope

Since Save the Storks was founded in 2012, an estimated 15,000 lives have been saved—enough to fill 273 school buses, 650 classrooms, or over 30 elementary schools. So many family legacies have been forever changed.

In 2025, 89% of 7,800 abortion-minded patients chose life through our national partner program and mobile medical clinics. These clinics provide compassionate care, support, and resources to women during a critical time in their lives.

While many worry about the future of generations like Gen Alpha, the greatest tragedy they face is the abortions that prevent them from ever having a chance to live. These are not just statistics; they are women and families experiencing the pain, loss, and regret that come with abortion.

Support a Stork Bus, Fill a School Bus

Every school year, churches and communities unite to donate backpacks for children starting school. But what if your donation could ensure a child has the chance to live and step onto a school bus in five years?

By supporting our mobile medical clinics, you empower abortion-minded women to choose life for their babies, so the next generation does not have to experience the loss of abortion.

When you see that yellow school bus in front of you, remember that your support is filling buses with children every year.

DEAR READER

We hope this article enlightened and inspired you to stand up for life.

Despite the overturning of Roe v. Wade, abortions are still prevalent in our nation. As a response to the overturning, the media: from the news to entertainment sources to even political figures and celebrities, have pushed abortion as an ongoing agenda, shaping the way this generation thinks and acts. Misinformation is being spread every day, and people are sadly believing the lies.

Our articles and stories aim to tell one thing: the truth.

We know that it is both a blessing and a challenge to understand the reality of abortion, because knowledge incites belief, and belief incites action. But we’re in this together. We believe that we can make abortion unthinkable.

With your support, we look forward to a future where young women are empowered to fight for their own rights: a right to bring life into the world, to be fearless leaders, to be examples of hope, strength, and undeterred resilience. We look forward to a future where life can happen.

If this article strengthened your belief to reach women everywhere with the truth and to let life happen, then please consider helping us extend our reach by making a gift right now. Your gift of just $10 or $20 helps our mission to create a story of hope and empowerment for every woman facing an unplanned pregnancy.

We aim to create a culture that views “pro-life” as equivalent to having empathy and compassion, providing holistic care (before and beyond pregnancy) and education, and most importantly, choosing to speak and act in love. We are pro-life, pro-love, pro-woman, pro-solution.

Don’t just be part of the movement, be part of the solution, and give today.
