Thomas Kim


Thomas is the Chief Operating Officer at Save the Storks. Prior to joining Save the Storks, he served as the First Deputy Chief for the City of Chicago’s IPRA/COPA (Independent Police Review Authority). Thomas’s career also includes serving as Chief of Investigations for the nation’s largest civilian police oversight agency at the Civilian Complaint Review Board (CCRB) in New York. In addition to leading the investigative unit, he was the architect of the “CCRB Academy,” a training program for new and veteran investigators. His previous public service also includes working for the Illinois Department of Corrections/Juvenile Justice in several roles including as the Superintendent and Statewide Deputy Director. Thomas is a former Field Grade Army Officer with multiple combat deployments. He is passionate for Christ and the gift of life, and he sees his role at Save the Storks as an opportunity to fulfill God’s final mission for his career. Thomas and his wife of 29 years have two children serving our great nation. Their son is a Commissioned Officer in the U.S. Army, and their daughter is a Cadet at the United States Air Force Academy.
