When Lana first heard about the ultrasound offered on a Care Net Mobile Medical Clinic, she was simply hoping to learn the gender of her baby. What she didn’t expect was the wave of hope and support that would follow.
Life had just shifted dramatically. Lana had recently lost the relationship with the father of her children due to circumstances outside her control. Devastated but determined, she resolved to care for her growing family—two children at home and one on the way.
A Baby Girl—and a New Beginning
When she arrived at the Mobile Medical Clinic, she immediately felt at ease. The space was beautiful, still smelling fresh and new. The warmth of the director and the care of the radiology doctor and nurse left a lasting impression. During her appointment, they saw an active baby with a strong heartbeat on the ultrasound. And while gender reveals aren’t a part of the medical scope, a little girl was possibly spotted!

Five months later, that “maybe” became a miracle—Lana gave birth to a healthy baby girl, less than a year after welcoming her son. By then, Lana had enrolled in BrightCourse parenting classes and was regularly visiting the clinic’s boutique. She stocked up on diapers and was especially grateful for the formula—one of the only brands her baby could tolerate. “The classes were actually really helpful,” she said, specifically mentioning the one on managing tantrums.
A Mother Empowered and Chasing Her Dreams
Since that first encounter on the Mobile Medical Clinic, Lana has remained connected with Care Net, consistently leaning on the support and resources available. As a single mom to three—one of whom is autistic—she draws strength from her faith and the support system around her. Her confidence as a mother has grown, and her resilience is a testimony to what happens when love meets practical help.

Today, Lana is pursuing her dreams in the ADN nursing program at Wenatchee Valley College, already in her third quarter. She submitted this message for our newsletter, and we knew we had to share it:
“I want to let all mothers and expecting mothers—even fathers—know that it is never too late to pursue a dream. As a single and only mother to my three children (one being autistic), it has been a battle to overcome all the obstacles I have had to endure. However, I will say, it was never impossible.
I am currently in the ADN program on my third quarter at Wenatchee Valley College and it has been such a bittersweet moment. My journey isn’t over yet, but with the strength of God, I know that I got this. You do too!”
Lana’s story reminds us that behind every ultrasound image is a network of support and people eager to come alongside mothers and help. Her journey is far from over, but she walks it with courage and faith. We are honored to have played a part in her story—and we’re cheering her on every step of the way.
