THIS JUST IN: Planned Parenthood’s Not Even Trying To Hide Their Racism Anymore.

Yesterday, Planned Parenthood hosted a “chat” on Twitter using the hashtag #scarystats. Here were some of the “stats” they shared:

“90% of counties in the United States do not have a known abortion clinic. (Guttmacher)”

“Outrageous & dangerous: As of Oct 2017, 38 states have introduced harmful TRAP laws to block access to abortion care.”

“If extreme politicians “defunded” Planned Parenthood, 2.4 million patients would lose access to health care.”

“433. That’s the number of abortion restrictions that have been introduced across the country so far this year.”

The tweets went on and on, from Planned Parenthood, NARAL, and others, bemoaning the fact that abortion restrictions are on the rise in America, and that groups like Planned Parenthood could lose their funding.

The stated and insinuated fear is millions of women would lose their health care if Planned Parenthood is defunded, and without government subsidies of birth control, millions more will lose total access to birth control.

These “scary facts” paint women as unempowered, helpless victims waiting for Planned Parenthood to save them. We believe women are stronger and more empowered than that. And so do a lot of other groups who jumped on the hashtag yesterday.

You see, Planned Parenthood has unfortunately made themselves the hero in women’s stories, claiming that without their organization, women are powerless to make informed and healthy decisions about their sexuality and pregnancies.

And perhaps the “scariest stat” of all was shared by Planned Parenthood Black Community:

“If you’re a Black woman in America, it’s statistically safer to have an abortion than to carry a pregnancy to term or give birth.”

The irony here is that Margaret Sanger’s original goal with Planned Parenthood was to eliminate the “Negro population.” This deeply eugenist view is often swept under the rug by Planned Parenthood supporters today as an understandably despicable part of their history.

The truly despicable fact of the matter, though, is that Planned Parenthood is still targeting Black communities with their racist, eugenicist agenda. The CDC reported in 2010 that “black women make up only 6% of the U.S. population” but they “account for 35% of the abortions reported.”

And in New York City, more black babies are aborted than are born alive.

Can we talk about that for a minute? It’s ludicrous to claim that having an abortion is safer than continuing with childbirth… and most women who are committed to carrying to term wouldn’t consider abortion an option in the first place, so we’re not really sure what Planned Parenthood’s point is other than to be inflammatory on an already charged issue.

This tweet by Planned Parenthood is simply another way they’re targeting a specific race to advance their ugly agenda.

As if those facts weren’t scary enough, here are a few other “scary stats” Planned Parenthood and others left out of their Twitter event yesterday:

Fact #1 — Three out of five women who have abortions in America today have them because they feel pressured. They don’t freely make a decision to abort, they desperately make it, fearing the repercussions they’ll face from family, boyfriends, and others if they choose to carry to term.

Financially, they don’t see another way out, and there’s no one in their lives who will step up to offer material support and help during and after their pregnancies. Instead of offering that help, Planned Parenthood and others exploit women in this vulnerable state, claiming abortion is the only option that makes sense for their situation. Pretty scary, huh?

Fact #2 — Every day, Planned Parenthood performs abortions on 900 women. That means every day, Planned Parenthood performs 576 abortions on women who are having abortions in the first place under pressure. Given another, viable alternative, those 576 women would have made a different choice. Which leads me to the next “scary fact.”

Fact #3 — Planned Parenthood benefits financially from women’s forced abortions. That sounds crass and crude, but that’s the brutal, scary reality. Women who are backed into a corner with no other recourses go to Planned Parenthood and only hear about one option: Abortion.

Planned Parenthood charges up to $800 at some of their clinics for that procedure, which means they’re bringing in up to $460,800each day from women who don’t really want abortions in the first place. That’s more than scary. It’s absolutely horrendous.

Fact #4 — The number one cause of maternal mortality in American today is homicide. It’s not a pregnancy-related health issue. It’s not ectopic pregnancy. No. Homicide accounts for 20% of the deaths of pregnant women, higher than the 6% of deaths of women of reproductive age who are not pregnant.Remember that pressure I was talking about earlier? Yeah. When faced with the pressure of carrying to term and possibly losing your life, what hard decision are you going to make?

Maybe the next time Planned Parenthood chooses to share “scary stats” they should do their homework first. American women have been sold a bag of goods, and are being pressured to purchase abortions they don’t want.

We say enough. Sign the pledge to end that pressure today.
