A new report from the Ethics and Public Policy Center (EPPC) reveals the abortion pill is far more dangerous than many women are led to believe. The study, which analyzed insurance data from over 865,000 mifepristone abortions between 2017 and 2023, found that 1 in 10 women experienced serious adverse events, including sepsis, hemorrhaging, infection, hospitalization, and emergency room visits, within just 45 days of taking the abortion pill.

All of this from a drug the FDA famously claims is “safe and effective” for women.

The Truth About the Abortion Pill

Since the FDA began an aggressive push of abortion pills, our National Medical Director, Dr. Karysse Hutson, has spoken about the serious dangers of approving the abortion pill and removing safeguards for women.

New research reveals a 10.93% rate of severe complications from the abortion pill, challenging claims of its safety. With over 865,000 prescriptions studied, it’s clear that abortion isn’t as risk-free as we’re told. As a physician, I urge everyone to question the narrative and learn the full truth about these dangers. In April 2021, the FDA made a temporary allowance for abortion pills to be prescribed via telehealth and delivered by mail without an in-person visit. This policy was made permanent in December 2021 based on claims that it was safe. But real-world data now shows the rate of serious adverse events is at least 22 times higher than what clinical trials reported.

“When an organization like the FDA or ACOG says things are safe, that’s not always the case,” adds Dr. Hutson, “OBGYNs like myself know this to be true because we’re treating those tens of thousands of patients coming into the ER with complications related to the abortion pill.”

Dr. Hutson continues to lead with courage and conviction, championing women’s health above politics and ensuring that women’s safety and dignity remain top priorities.

Women are not statistics. They are daughters, mothers, sisters, and friends. And they deserve to be told the truth.

It’s time to stop putting the abortion industry’s agenda ahead of women’s lives. It’s time to put her future first.

Please stand with us to put Her Future First, because true empowerment starts with protecting her health.

DEAR READER

We hope this article enlightened and inspired you to stand up for life.

Despite the overturning of Roe v. Wade, abortions are still prevalent in our nation. As a response to the overturning, the media: from the news to entertainment sources to even political figures and celebrities, have pushed abortion as an ongoing agenda, shaping the way this generation thinks and acts. Misinformation is being spread every day, and people are sadly believing the lies.

Our articles and stories aim to tell one thing: the truth.

We know that it is both a blessing and a challenge to understand the reality of abortion, because knowledge incites belief, and belief incites action. But we’re in this together. We believe that we can make abortion unthinkable.

With your support, we look forward to a future where young women are empowered to fight for their own rights: a right to bring life into the world, to be fearless leaders, to be examples of hope, strength, and undeterred resilience. We look forward to a future where life can happen.

If this article strengthened your belief to reach women everywhere with the truth and to let life happen, then please consider helping us extend our reach by making a gift right now. Your gift of just $10 or $20 helps our mission to create a story of hope and empowerment for every woman facing an unplanned pregnancy.

We aim to create a culture that views “pro-life” as equivalent to having empathy and compassion, providing holistic care (before and beyond pregnancy) and education, and most importantly, choosing to speak and act in love. We are pro-life, pro-love, pro-woman, pro-solution.

Don’t just be part of the movement, be part of the solution, and give today.
